We repair furniture in your home rather than taking it away. Typical jobs are a wardrobe that has come apart at the corners, drawer runners that have given up, a bed frame that creaks or has split at a joint, and kitchen cabinet doors and hinges. Most repairs are £80 to £180 and take under two hours.
Flat-pack furniture rarely breaks in the middle. It fails at the fixings. Cam locks strip, dowels work loose, and the chipboard around a screw crumbles until nothing holds. Once that happens, tightening it up does not last a fortnight. The fix is to move the fixing to fresh material or replace the panel, and that is a carpentry job rather than an assembly job.
Solid wood is different. A split rail on a bed frame or a loose chair joint is usually glued, cramped and left overnight, and it comes back stronger than it was. We will tell you which of the two you have before we quote.
We repair rather than replace wherever it makes sense. If a piece is genuinely finished we say so, and we will not charge you for a visit to be told that.
Furniture repair prices
Our minimum charge covers the first hour on site. Most single repairs fall inside it.
| Job | Price | Typical time |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum call-out (first hour) | £80 | 1 hr |
| Wardrobe reassembled and squared up | £90 to £180 | 1 to 2 hrs |
| Drawer runners replaced (per drawer) | £45 to £85 | 30 mins |
| Kitchen cabinet door rehung and aligned | £60 to £110 | 1 hr |
| Bed frame repaired, split rail glued and braced | £90 to £160 | 1 to 2 hrs |
| Chair or table joint re-glued and cramped | £80 to £140 | 1 hr |
| Cabinet hinge replacement (per hinge) | £25 to £40 | 15 mins |
| Chipboard panel replaced or patched | £90 to £190 | 1 to 2 hrs |
| Furniture dismantled for a move | £80 to £150 | 1 to 2 hrs |
| Wardrobe back panel replaced | £90 to £170 | 1 to 2 hrs |
Hourly rate after the first hour is £45. Materials such as runners, hinges and timber are charged at cost.
If you have several small jobs, book them together. Four minor repairs in one visit costs far less than four separate call-outs, and most flats have more than one thing on the list.
What we repair
How it works
We work across London for homeowners, tenants and landlords. Landlords, we can go in with keys and send photographs of the finished work, and we invoice on account if you have several properties.
Repair or replace, honestly
- Chipboard that has crumbled around a fixing can be moved to fresh material once, sometimes twice. After that a new panel is the sensible fix.
- Solid timber joints are almost always worth repairing. Glued and cramped properly they outlast the original.
- Water damaged MDF swells and does not come back. We will tell you if that is what you have.
- Anything under warranty is worth claiming first. We will say so rather than take your money.
